Citrix Platinum Partner

Citrix Platinum Partner Since 1987

The enterprise standard for virtual application and desktop delivery. OAS has been a Citrix Platinum Partner since 1987 — one of the longest-standing Citrix partnerships in Southern Africa.

Overview

OAS has delivered Citrix solutions for over 40 years — one of the longest-standing Citrix partnerships in Southern Africa. As a Citrix Platinum Partner, OAS holds the highest tier in the Citrix partner programme. That distinction reflects sustained investment in certified engineers, complex delivery capability, and measurable client outcomes.

Citrix is the enterprise standard for secure application and desktop virtualisation. For organisations in regulated industries — financial services, healthcare, government — where security, compliance, and performance are non-negotiable, Citrix is the proven platform.

What Platinum Partnership Means for Your Organisation

The Platinum tier reflects active technical investment and verified delivery competency — not simply purchase volume.

Your organisation benefits directly:

  • Direct access to Citrix engineering teams for complex deployments and escalations
  • Priority support with faster resolution SLAs on critical issues
  • Preferred pricing on Citrix DaaS, CVAD, NetScaler, and Secure Private Access
  • Early access to product releases, roadmap previews, and technical previews
  • A single accountable partner — from initial assessment through ongoing managed services

OAS does not resell Citrix licences and walk away. Every Citrix engagement includes assessment, architecture design, deployment, migration, and long-term managed services.

Citrix Portfolio Delivered by OAS

Citrix DaaS (Desktop as a Service)

Cloud-managed virtual desktop and application delivery. Citrix DaaS supports hybrid deployments across Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, and on-premises — ideal for organisations that need cloud agility without abandoning data sovereignty requirements.

OAS delivers Citrix DaaS on Azure's South African data centres (Johannesburg and Cape Town), keeping your data within South African borders.

Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD)

On-premises application and desktop virtualisation for organisations that require full control. CVAD is the established choice for regulated industries with strict data residency or compliance requirements. The current release, CVAD 2511, adds Windows Server 2025 support, Microsoft Entra SSO, and enhanced image management.

NetScaler Application Delivery Controller

NetScaler provides high-performance application delivery — load balancing, SSL offloading, and a web application firewall (WAF) that protects published applications. The NetScaler AI Gateway adds centralised control over AI traffic, policy enforcement, and token-based cost management for organisations deploying large language models.

Citrix Secure Private Access

Zero-trust network access (ZTNA) for web and SaaS applications. Replaces traditional VPN with identity-aware, application-level access — enforcing least-privilege principles without full network connectivity. Now included for all UHMC customers.

Citrix deviceTRUST

Continuous, in-session device posture monitoring for Citrix environments. deviceTRUST goes beyond login-time checks — it monitors device compliance, network location, and endpoint conditions throughout every active session, enforcing dynamic access policies in real time. Integrated into the Citrix Universal Hybrid Multi-Cloud (UHMC) platform.

Chrome Enterprise Premium

Citrix is migrating from Citrix Enterprise Browser to Chrome Enterprise Premium. The integration delivers real-time policy enforcement, threat protection, and data security directly in the browser — with support for secure RDP sessions. Parallel operation is supported during the transition, and OAS provides advisory services for planning your migration.

XenServer Hypervisor

Citrix's hypervisor, optimised for virtual desktop workloads. XenServer 8.4 supports Windows 11 and all workload types — not just Citrix environments. OAS delivers validated migration paths from VMware vSphere to XenServer, reducing hypervisor costs after Broadcom's licensing changes.

Provisioning Services (PVS) and Workspace Environment Management (WEM)

Two critical infrastructure components for large Citrix deployments. PVS streams a single disk image to hundreds of target devices, eliminating per-machine image management. WEM optimises user profiles, logon times, and session performance through intelligent CPU and memory management. Both are included in Citrix subscription bundles.

Citrix Aidrien — AI-Powered Administration

Generally available since March 2026, Aidrien gives administrators an AI assistant that understands each organisation's unique Citrix environment. It translates natural-language queries into real-time insights from the Monitor database — reducing troubleshooting time across DaaS and NetScaler Console deployments.

Time-Sensitive: Citrix LAS Migration Deadline

File-based Citrix licensing ends on 15 April 2026.

Citrix License Activation Service (LAS) replaces file-based licensing for all on-premises deployments. Organisations that have not migrated by the deadline will lose licence validation — causing Citrix infrastructure to stop functioning.

The migration affects every on-premises Citrix component:

  • Delivery Controllers
  • Virtual Delivery Agents (VDAs)
  • Studio and Web Studio
  • NetScaler ADCs
  • Citrix StoreFront and Gateways

OAS provides full LAS migration planning and execution — from initial licence audit through cutover and validation.

Deployment Architectures

OAS designs and manages five core Citrix deployment models:

Deployment Best For
On-premises CVAD Regulated industries, data sovereignty, low-latency
Citrix DaaS on Azure Cloud agility with hybrid flexibility
Hybrid (CVAD + DaaS) Gradual cloud adoption, workload distribution
Citrix on Nutanix AHV On-premises without VMware licensing dependency
Citrix on XenServer Hypervisor modernisation, VMware migration

For organisations displaced by Broadcom's VMware licensing changes, OAS provides validated migration paths — Citrix on Nutanix AHV or Citrix on XenServer — that eliminate VMware costs while maintaining enterprise virtualisation capability.

Citrix Licensing Advisory

Citrix has consolidated its portfolio into three subscription bundles. Choosing the right one depends on your deployment model and compliance requirements.

Bundle Best For
Universal Hybrid Multi-Cloud (UHMC) Full platform — CVAD, DaaS, NetScaler, XenServer Premium, Secure Private Access, deviceTRUST, uberAgent
Citrix Platform Licence Core virtualisation and management for targeted deployments
Citrix for Private Cloud Data sovereignty or air-gapped requirements

Standalone product renewals are no longer available. OAS maps your current entitlements to the optimal bundle — avoiding over-provisioning and ensuring a smooth transition before the LAS deadline.

Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops

Centralised application and desktop virtualisation with full session management, HDX protocol for optimal user experience, and multi-session Windows support. The enterprise standard for regulated industries.
