N-able N-central Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) is the "Detect" pillar in OAS's Three Pillar Managed Security methodology. It is the operational platform that ties the entire managed services stack together. From a single console, OAS monitors endpoints, deploys patches, manages SentinelOne endpoint protection, and oversees Cove backup across every client environment.

N-central RMM Platform

Enterprise-grade remote monitoring and management for Windows, macOS, and Linux endpoints, physical and virtual servers, and network devices. N-central provides the real-time visibility OAS needs to manage your infrastructure proactively.

Key capabilities include automated alerting with configurable thresholds, remote access for rapid troubleshooting, hardware and software inventory tracking, and customisable reporting for SLA compliance and security posture.

Automated Patch Management

Unpatched systems are the most common attack vector. N-central automates patching across every Microsoft update class and severity — including out-of-band patches — plus 100+ third-party applications such as Chrome, Firefox, Adobe Creative Cloud, Java, Zoom, and Teams.

Rule-based approval workflows ensure patches are tested before broad deployment. OAS defines criteria once — for example, critical security updates that survive 48 hours in a pilot group. Patches then deploy automatically across all client environments.

Automation Engine

Over 700 pre-built automation recipes proven across millions of managed devices. The Visual Automation Manager supports conditional logic, error handling, and scheduled execution without coding. A centralised Script Repository provides collaborative editing for PowerShell, Shell, Bash, and Python scripts.

Network Discovery and Diagnostics

Three Pillar Integration

When SentinelOne (Protect) identifies a threat, N-able's alerting ensures OAS responds immediately. When recovery is needed, Cove (Recover) backup status is visible from the same console.

The Three Pillar approach is a methodology — Protect, Detect, Recover — not a fixed product bundle. N-able N-central is the current default for the Detect function, selected for its automation depth and ability to unify the entire managed services stack in a single platform.
